​​STEM Summer Workshop in English: ​Explore the Future with AI

​In this event, children will learn the basics of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in English and take on exciting hands-on challenges in image recognition and AI game design & programming! It’s a fun and educational program that combines English learning with cutting-edge technology experiences. Japanese language support is available, so even beginners can join with confidence. Beginners who are interested in English, AI, games, and programming are more than welcome! 🌟

🧠 Day 1: What is AI? Let’s Try Image Recognition! Activities:
- Learn about “AI” in simple English (“What is AI?” / “How does it help us?”)
- Use a camera to experience how AI recognizes animals and objects
- Play mini games using image recognition (e.g. “What’s this?” quiz and classification games)
- Learn related English keywords together (e.g. object, camera, animal, recognize)
   
🎮 Day 2: Let’s Create an AI Game! Activities: 
- Learn English expressions related to games such as “rules,” “characters,” and “movement”
- Explore simple AI functions (e.g. avoiding obstacles, reacting to player movements)
- Plan, design, and program your own original AI game using worksheets and visual programming

Join a Fun and Brain-Boosting Workshop to Experience Chinese Chess “Xiangqi”!

 Interested in trying out Xiangqi (Chinese Chess), a strategic and exciting game from China?
It’s a bit like Western chess or Japanese shogi — but the pieces move differently and the rules are completely unique! In this session, you’ll learn how to play Xiangqi through hands-on experience, including its special strategies and how to deliver a “check” (將軍).

Through the game, you’ll also get a taste of Chinese culture and ways of thinking! 

You will learn:
- The basic rules of Xiangqi and how each piece moves
- Differences from chess and Japanese shogi
- The meanings and roles of the pieces
- Learn Chinese words through playing!
- Experience Chinese values and perspectives through gameplay

Did you know that Mahjong isn’t just played the Japanese way?

 In fact, Chinese Mahjong has quite a few differences from the Japanese rules! In this workshop, you'll get to touch and play with real tiles while having fun learning the differences between Chinese and Japanese Mahjong.

You can compare things like the types of winning hands, how to call tiles, and table manners — so even beginners can enjoy without worry. We’ll also introduce a bit of Chinese language, making this perfect for anyone interested in Chinese culture! 

You will learn:
- The basic rule differences between Chinese and Japanese Mahjong
- Chinese Mahjong terms like “碰 (pèng),” “槓 (gàng),” and “胡 (hú)”
- How to count points and think about hands
- A hands-on game experience using real tiles
- Cultural differences between China and Japan seen through Mahjong

Enjoy the rich world of Mahjong through the sounds of the tiles and the movement of your hands. Compare both styles from China and Japan and experience them together!
